Twelve Days of Christmas – Day 12: What We Really Want!

Christmas Banner

Our Twelve Days of Christmas seem to have rushed by, and we hope you’ve enjoyed our Gift Guide collections of handmade and vintage gifts from Craft Britannia Team shops on Etsy, and been inspired in your gift-buying this Christmas. In our final issue we meet some of our team members, who share with us their personal selection of exclusive items, from other members shops, that they would buy for themselves if money was no object – in other words, what they really, really want!

Interestingly, the same shop names were nominated several times, which means that what our members would really, really like for Christmas is a lovely vintage item or some beautiful handmade ceramics or jewellery, a luxurious handmade garment or teddy, a work of art such as an original painting, glass sculpture or papercut. Sadly we don’t have room to feature all the designer-makers mentioned, but here are just a few of the fabulous items included on our team’s wishlist …..

GracesFavours is a wonderful shop full of gifts & educational toys handmade by Simmi. Simmi is one of several members who would love to receive a handwoven shawl from Tafipiri for Christmas, such as this pink Alpaca & Silk Wrap

Marieanne is the talented pottery teacher & maker
behind damsontreepottery. Her choice for Christmas is a Lampwork glass & sterling Silver Necklace handmade by ErikaPrice

Sally Bowman of OKIFOLKI makes amazing paper art from book pages, and would love this gorgeous black evening shawl with sequins crocheted by jarg0n

Our champion Team Britannia chatterer is Liz of madmumknits. Liz knits gorgeous teacosies and accessories, and her wish list includes this beautiful set of cherry blossom ceramic tiles by damsontreepottery

Susan of susansharpeceramics loves pots of all kinds! She has her eye on this vintage Ceramic Sake Set from muntjacvintage

Susan would also love to receive this gorgeous handcrafted
Fine Silver Necklace and Earrings Set
from blossomingsilver

Louise sells her gorgeous pewter repousse work
in her shop, Loutul. Louise’s pick of the crop this year is Alfie, an adorable teddy from KipperTieAndCake

jarg0n‘s shop is full of crochet & knitted gifts by Dawn. This beautiful Urban Fox Glass Sculpture handmade by flyingcheesetoastie is on Dawn’s wish list this Christmas!

SpinningStreak makes unique hand knitted & handspun yarn items. She is hoping to find these stunning sterling silver earrings by GlanceJewellery in her stocking!

Caroline runs the wonderfully nostalgic UKChristmasStore, selling her handmade Christmas decorations. If money were no object, she would love a Papercut family tree from DinkyThings

SunnyCrystals, run by Sue, is home to an amazing collection of gemstones & Hand-Crafted 3D Decoupage Cards. Top of Sue’s list is another piece by ErikaPrice, a Silver Geranium Leaf Necklace

As well as jointly running our Shop of The Week, Nadine sells vintage housewares and collectibles in her shop, muntjacvintage. Nadine is another jarg0n fan and chose this lovely crocheted mohair shawl

Jessica of SewGifted makes gorgeous quality gadget and cosmetic cases & bags. Jess chose another piece from GlanceJewellery, this pretty sterling silver & sea glass necklace

Zoe, aka GlanceJewellery, is asking Santa for this stunning Red Crochet Wrap handmade by Naomi of Shalotte

Naomi from Shalotte has rather a long wish list, but would love to find these Sterling stacking rings by WnsDesigns under her Christmas tree!

In common with lots of her teammates, Naomi would also love to receive an original artwork by louisemead, such as this stunning abstract tree painting

My wish list is rather long too and as I love all the work my teammates produce it’s been almost impossible to choose just one! But I would dearly love to receive this beautiful bird house wall hanging, hand embroidered by Loutul

well, that’s all folks! We’d like to thank all our readers, and all the team members who contributed to today’s post. We hope you have enjoyed each of our Twelve Days of Christmas, and been inspired to shop Craft Britannia. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we’ll see you in 2013 🙂
